No. 8
In this piece I was thinking about the memory of objects. Using house paint and paper I transferred images from No.8 Henrietta Street, the house my family had a tenement in, onto Georgian yellow brick. This was the place where my great uncle fell from the stairs and was crippled for life. Through these images I aim to explore how the scars of the house hold real trauma, the hidden traces of the event and the house as a fossil or record, hiding these traces between the bricks as a fossil hides between layers of deep geological history.
