'dissonance'
'Dissonance' was an installation I made in lockdown which looks at looping thoughts, rumination and echo chambers. I was reflecting on the idea that new forms of media have an influence on our thought process. By incorporating long loops of my scrolling instagram feed as well as the continuous and repetitive news surrounding covid-19, I wanted to show how isolation in combinations with repetitive, continuous and echoing forms of media can create a confused and disoriented internal dialogue. The elements were hung from the ceiling and lit to create an interplay of shifting shadows, adding to the feeling of disorientation.
